Change.org is working towards being powered by members who support keeping our platform free and accessible to all, through our membership program. We ask our most active and committed users to contribute a small amount monthly to help improve and maintain our free site for people everywhere to create change.

What do contributions support?

Membership contributions are critical to helping us build the Change.org platform as an important catalyst for change everywhere.  Contributions help us build better free technology for people who want to start and sign petitions, and join movements for change. They also help us fund a small team of campaigners and communications staff who provide strategic advice, secure media coverage, and connect petition starters to the business and government leaders whose decisions impact their lives.

All revenue we make is reinvested into the platform to help empower people to win their campaigns, every day. We’re one of a growing number of news and publishing websites that have membership programs so that they continue to provide people with information and other free services.

Can I change my contribution amount?

Of course! You can change your membership contribution at any time by visiting https://www.change.org/account_settings/contributions or by logging into your Change.org account and then navigating to Settings > Manage Contributions.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes, you can cancel your membership at any time. To do so, please head to https://www.change.org/account_settings/contributions and you can cancel directly from there.

Members in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Japan and Thailand

In these countries, donations are received by the Change.org Charitable Foundation, a US charity that supports citizen-led social movements in countries all over the world. Donations may have tax advantages - please check with your tax advisor.

What do donations support?

When you donate to the Change.org Charitable Foundation ("the Change.org Foundation"), you are making an unrestricted donation to support the Change.org Foundation’s mission, including to provide tools and support for citizen-led campaigning. Change.org Foundation does not keep the funds donated at a country level. These funds are reinvested back in the local country office to support its mission to support citizen-led campaigning.

The Change.org Foundation is a network of nonprofits based in a diverse set of countries with very different realities. We are impact-driven. As a non-profit, we will always prioritize maximizing impact. Wherever possible, we design our work so that the products and value it creates are free, open and commons-based, creating a shared environment for social good.

The Change.org Foundation offers free grassroots training and support to users of the Change.org platform primarily in Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East, through locally registered not for profit chapters. The Foundation is funded through a combination of small donations and philanthropic funds.
