Change.org is not a charity - it is a nonprofit-owned public benefit corporation (PBC.) That means we are dedicated to positive social impact, and our mission and commitment to empowering people everywhere is legally part of the company’s corporate charter.

We’re trying to build the most impactful platform for making the change that people anywhere can use -- structuring ourselves as a technology start-up enables us to do that in the most effective way.

As of 2021, Change.org transitioned to 100% nonprofit ownership by the Change.org Foundation, making us the world's largest nonprofit-owned tech platform for social change.
