How to reopen a closed petition on Change.org

If you closed your Change.org petition but want to continue collecting signatures, you can reopen it at any time. If you declared victory, you must close the petition before you can reopen it. Reopening a petition on Change.org makes it active again, allowing supporters to sign once more.

How to reopen a closed petition on Change.org

Follow these steps to reopen your closed petition and start accepting signatures again:

1. Log in to your Change.org account and navigate to the homepage.

2. Click My petitions in the header navigation to go to your profile page, which lists all the petitions you have started and signed.

3. From your list of started petitions, select the closed petition you want to reopen. You will be taken to the petition's dashboard, which provides an overview of its performance.

4. Click the Edit button to access the petition editing interface.

5. Click the Settings tab next to "Edit petition."

6. If the petition status is Victory, click Close Petition. In the confirmation popup, click Close Petition again. The petition status changes to Closed, and the Reopen Petition button becomes available.

7. Click the Reopen Petition button to reopen your petition.

Your Change.org petition will start accepting new signatures again once reopened.
