The Change.org petition editor allows you to modify your petition content, including:

● Petition title - The main headline that appears at the top of your petition

● Petition image - Upload or replace the main image displayed on your petition. We recommend using an image size of approximately 1600x900 pixels

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can I not see the Edit button on my petition?

The Edit button only appears when you are logged into the Change.org account that created the petition. If you created the petition using a different email address, log out and log back in with that email. If you no longer have access to that email, contact Change.org support for assistance. Also, make sure that you clicked ‘Publish’ at the end of the petition making process. If you didn’t do this, the petition will not be saved and you will not be able to view it after.

Will editing my petition remove my existing signatures?

No. Editing your petition does not affect your existing signatures. All supporters who have already signed will remain on your petition after you make changes.

Do note that drastically changing your petition content could result in a breach of our Community Guidelines and may result in the removal of your petition. Our edit petition option is meant for improving petitions only and should not be used to mislead or manipulate petition signers and supporters.

Can someone else edit my petition?

Only the account that created a petition can edit it. The only way to have multiple people managing a petition is to use a shared login, which we do not recommend. For assistance with petition management, contact Change.org support.

Can I change the petition URL after creating it?

You can create a custom URL for your petition through the “Share your petition” section of your dashboard. This helps you shorten longer URLs while potentially increasing the impact of your petition by using a relevant phrase/name in your custom URL.

Once you choose your custom URL, you are not able to change it, so make sure you get it right the first time. If you find an error such as a typo, contact Change.org support for assistance.
